About Training

*** AKC Approved Evaluator, I can administer the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test!***

All classes are taught with positive reinforcement (NO choke collars, prong collars, shock collar, etc).  Classes are approximately 1 hour a week in your home. Yes, that's right, I come right to your home! No more excusses, my schedule fits your schedule. All commands are taught with hand signals and verbal commands. This is so your puppy/dog will understand "Sit" NOT SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT! Start your puppy off right, you can start a puppy in class at 10 weeks old! Classes are as follows:

Puppy/Basic Class (6 week course):  (This course teaches your puppy/dog to start listening to you and following commands. All commands should be practiced in a non-distracting location. Puppies and dogs need to concentrate on what they are doing, Puppies have a very low attention span, the slightest distractions will cause them to lose focus on you and what they are doing. They need to be taught how to work through distractions and stay focused on you.)

What Is a "Clicker Training"?

Clicker training is an operant conditioning based training method that uses only positive reinforcement for success. A desired behavior is signaled by the clicking sound and rewarded by a treat. The more precise sound of the clicker replaces the verbal praise that your pet learns to associate with the appropriate behavior. Your Puppy/dog quickly learns to make the connection between the behavior and the sound of the clicker, and the appearance of a reward, and will be conditioned to respond with appropriate behaviors. You can make Clicker Training part of your daily routine to make teaching your puppy/dog FUN!!!!!
